This post contains useful information for WordCamp Dublin attendees. If you managed to secure a ticket, then read on.

Venue

WordCamp Dublin 2019 will take place on Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October in DCU Business School, Glasnevin, Dublin 9. The venue will open at 8.30am and close around 6pm each day. You can find the full schedule on the website. https://2019.dublin.wordcamp.org/schedule/

Registration

You can register from 8.30am each day and the programme will start about 9am.

Please bring your ticket reservation email ideally on your phone, tablet or laptop, to be eco-friendly and avoid unnecessary printing.

Please note, you will need to bring a charged laptop with you if you would like to take part in any contributor or workshop-type sessions. Ideally bring your charger too and a plug adaptor for the plug type that we use in Ireland (which is the same as the plug type used in the UK).https://electricaloutlet.org/type-g

Sustainability

To make WordCamp Dublin as eco-friendly as possible, we would like to ask all speakers and attendees to bring a reusable tea/coffee cup with them during the weekend if possible. We will provide tea and coffee at the main break times. The university has a water fountain available throughout the day to refill your bottle.

Wellbeing

There will be a Wellbeing track on the Saturday and Sunday including workshops on mindfulness, yoga, ergonomics, resilience, managing projects to improve your wellbeing and humanising tech.

Please bring along your yoga mat or blanket if you would like to participate in floor-based exercises rather than seated yoga. We are working to accommodate both aspects in the different sessions. With the help of instructors, the sessions have been designed to make sure there is something for everyone to be able to join and particularly aimed at those who work long days using computers and mobile devices.

The schedule is available on the website. https://2019.dublin.wordcamp.org/wellbeing-sessions/

Contributor Sessions

There will be a two hour Contributor Session on Sunday 20 October 2019, 9.00am to 11.00am and you can come along and learn more about getting involved and contributing with others. There will be a number of tasks and workshops to help make WordPress even better. Everyone is welcome to attend and we hope you will join us in joining the amazing WordPress community. The main conference talks and workshops will resume after these sessions.

If you would like to be part of the Contributor Sessions and contribute with others at the event please come along. There are a number of specific tasks available to do during this session and can be worked on with others in the WordPress Community and Support Room during the weekend too. If you have skills which could be helpful for the different teams, please contact us at dublin@wordcamp.org and add ‘contributing’ to the subject line.

If you are new to contributing or able to help with some of the tasks being specifically designed for the event, please email dublin@wordcamp.org
