Dublin is the capital of Ireland, famous for its easy-going charm and bars filled with live music and happy Dubliners. In recent years it has become a tech hub of Europe and been home to the European Headquarters of almost every large technology company on the globe, including Google<\/a>, Hubspot<\/a>, Intel<\/a>, Microsoft<\/a> and Apple<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dublin is steeped in history, starting when the Vikings<\/a> settled there in the 9th century. The Norman occupation in the 10th century and later English rule have also provided Dublin with a rich, varied culture.

The city has produced a host of famous people from writers like James Joyce<\/a>, Oscar Wilde<\/a> to the infamous rock band U2<\/a> and Thin Lizzy.<\/a> It has also been a backdrop to many films such as \u2018My Left Foot<\/a>\u2019, Into the West<\/a> and The Commitments<\/a> to name but a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the famous Dublin Castle<\/a> and historic sites to The National Museum<\/a>, Art Galleries and cultural centres. City parks include Europes largest park, the impressive Phoenix Park<\/a> which hosts Dublin Zoo. Three of Ireland\u2019s historic universities are also based in Dublin, meaning it is a lively and multicultural city with a varied nightlife on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dublin is a city with two distinct sides divided by the River Liffey. The Northside is home to shopping centres, markets, museums, theatres, Croke Park Stadium<\/a> and Phoenix Park. In contrast, Southside, you will find the trendy Temple Bar district with cobbled streets, galleries and nightlife. There is a whole host of traditional pubs, eateries, quaint bars, music venues and souvenir shops, which provide a lively atmosphere day and night. Most cultural institutions, from the Irish Photography Centre to the Temple Bar Music Centre, are also found here. Lets not also forget that Dublin brews over 10 million pints of Guinness<\/a> every year \u2013 history at it\u2019s very best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
