We can’t believe it. WordCamp Dublin starts tomorrow morning (8am registration, 9am opening remarks, full schedule<\/a>) and we just passed the 220 tickets sold mark.<\/p>\n

So, THANK YOU. This wouldn’t happen without you. And our sponsors<\/a>. And our amazing volunteers. After all, WordCamp Dublin is and will always be a non-for-profit event.<\/p>\n

Anyway, here are 5 last-minute things you should know before tomorrow!<\/p>\n

1. Dress Casual.<\/h2>\n

WordCamps are truly casual conferences \u2013 rarely you\u2019ll meet people wearing a tie! So, dress comfortably<\/strong> and plan for any possible weather \u2013 we\u2019re in Ireland after all!<\/p>\n

The atmosphere is quite relaxed, and you can even hang out with your new friends away from the two stages while sipping coffee and sneakily eating yet another chocolate-covered digestive.<\/p>\n

2. Come Prepared.<\/h2>\n

Take a look at the schedule<\/a>\u00a0before arriving at DCU. What are the top 5 talks you really need to attend, no matter what?<\/p>\n

Well, try to make it there on time<\/strong>.\u00a0Arrive early to avoid delays at registration so that you can follow your fav sessions and listen to your fav speakers!<\/p>\n

Not sure what sessions to attend? Check these blogs<\/a>\u00a0or talk to the volunteers to get specific tips!<\/p>\n

3. Chat, Network, Learn… and Relax.<\/h2>\n

Challenge yourself to meet at least 10 new people<\/strong> \u2013 there will be time around meals, in the area outside the sessions, at the after-party\u2026 Or just sit next to someone you don\u2019t know and introduce yourself!<\/p>\n

However, don’t forget the relax bit. You can drink a free coffee (or two). Or maybe go for a walk around beautiful DCU. Why not, you can grab your jacket and go for a nap under a tree\u2026\u00a0Everything is allowed\u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

4. Thank Speakers, Sponsors, Anybody Really…<\/h2>\n

Of course, you can also\u00a0chat with #WCDUB\u00a0sponsors<\/a>, grab some free swag or spend some time at the\u00a0WP Help Desk<\/a>, where you can ask our volunteers questions on a 1-to-1 basis!<\/p>\n

Either way, don’t forget to let people know you liked their presentation. Or that you loved the swag. Or that you appreciated your chats.<\/p>\n

They will love it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Remember It’s Dublin’s 1st WordCamp<\/h2>\n

There is always room for improvement, mostly for a first-time event. If you notice something frustrating, boring, wrong or irritating, come talk to us and we’ll make sure to help you as soon as we can.<\/p>\n

There will be volunteers and organisers available all day (and night) long, so feel free to report if you don’t like something.<\/p>\n

This also applies if you’ve got great feedback<\/strong> BTW \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We’ve done our best… and now it’s time to kick off!<\/p>\n
