We wrote a series of blog posts to help you choose the most appropriate #WCDUB sessions.
Today, it’s all about WordPress for advanced folks. Need to know why you need AMP? Or how to optimise images? Or maybe you want to build your own page builder or web app?
Well, we’ve got you covered 🙂
We’ve organised WordCamp Dublin 2017 so you can spend 2 full days with bloggers, authors, marketers, SEOs, businesses, non-profits, web agencies, consultants, developers, designers, entrepreneurs – as well as everyone who loves and uses WordPress – for a ridiculously cheap ticket price.
So, here are the talks you shouldn’t miss – at the bottom of the post you will find a link to the full schedule.
1. Implement AMP
In “Accelerated Mobile Pages on WordPress: why and how?” Yannick will enlighten us on the speed and SEO benefits of implementing AMP on any website.
If you thought this was difficult, well – there is a (very good) plugin for that 🙂
2. Optimise WP images
A good share of “WordPress is slow!” comes from using non-optimised images. Fact.
Hear from Kayleigh, who will present an amazing talk called: “Making Kitten GIF Galleries Fabulous – Image Optimisation for WordPress”. Lol!
3. Discover InstantWP
“Using InstantWP as WordPress Development Power Tool” is the lesson taught by Seamus on Saturday afternoon. Join him and many other advanced folks to see what Seamus has come up with and how it can help you streamline your development.
4. Avoid Sunday morning hungover…
Yes, you read that right! On Sunday morning at 9.15 am (d’oh!!!), Gerald will wake us up for “Build a bespoke Page Builder – How to leverage metadata fields to enable creators to create tailored content”.
So, don’t exaggerate with drinks (yeah, right, we’re in Dublin after a Saturday night after-party…) and show up early on Sunday!
5. WTH is PWA?
Early afternoon Sunday, Fellyph will talk about “Progressive Web Apps and WordPress”. As an advanced WP expert I have no idea what that is – so join me, other devs and Fellyph to learn more about web apps.
Hopefully the hungover will be over at that time, as I need you to be fully concentrated 🙂
6. React or no React?
It’s in the news. Will WP continue using React or not? No one knows… or maybe Michael does! He will conclude #WCDUB with “React Native, WordPress and JavaScript Shenanigans” – definitely a super interesting and current topic to discuss all together 🙂

Till next time…
